Zero - Internationale Künstler-Avantgarde der 50er/60er Jahre

Stiftung Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf, Germany

The Kunst Palast Museum is dedicating a complete international retrospective to one of the most important avant-garde movements since the spring of 2006. The Zero movement revolutionized post-war art with a new language of images and images. forms: pictorial sequences in series, vibrant light structures and dynamic spatial constructions have replaced the traditional composition.

In the exhibition, the interactions between the groups of artists from Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Japan are discussed and presented 250 works by 49 artists, including works by Heinz Mack, Günther Uecker, Otto Piene, Yves Klein, Piero Manzoni, Lucio Fontana and Kazuo Shiraga. The exhibition covers the period from the early 1950s to the mid-1960s and highlights both the early creation period of Japanese GUTAI artists as well as the intense work and exhibition phase of the ZERO movement in Europe.
