Ars'tronomy

Casa Encendida, Madrid, Spain

The exhibition ARSTRONOMY addresses the cosmos in different aspects - the astral, the space, the scientist and the ufology - and reflects on the impact of scientific research, space travel and science fiction on art contemporary through a selection of works by more than twenty national and international artists.

Space travel, science fiction or the arrival of man on the moon are themes that are present in twentieth-century art and, in many cases, have been a fundamental source of inspiration, confrontation, reflection and provocation. This connivance between science and imagination, where technology goes hand in hand with fiction, is what best defines the concept of the ARSTRONOMY exhibition.

The exhibition brings together national and international artists of different generations who, since the 1950s, have reflected, studied or interpreted countless phenomena around the astral, cosmic or scientific to produce works in which the imagination, fantasy and creativity in space, politics, science and technology.
