The Everywhere Studio

Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), Miami, United States

The Miami Institute of Contemporary Art opened its new permanent residence on December 1, 2017 with a large group exhibition exploring the importance of the artist's studio, from the post-war period to the present day. Encompassing over a hundred works of painting, sculpture, video and installation, "The Everywhere Studio" brings together more than 50 artists from the past five decades to reveal the artist's studio as a busy site that has predicted and responded to social changes. and wider economies of our time.

"The Everywhere Studio" interprets the works of post-war artists and emerging practitioners through the social and historical conditions in which they were made. Organized chronologically, the exhibition examines the changing relationships artists have had with their production sites. From the studio as a workplace to one that blurs production, performance and entertainment, to a concept that defines the identity of the artist, the exhibition presents artists who, in response to changing socio-economic influences, represent new ways of life and work that would then spread in society.
