Pluie bleue [Blue Rain] (S 36), 1957

  • Pluie bleue [Blue Rain]
Dry pigment and synthetic resin on twelve wooden rod
    82 x 0 inch
The Menil Collection, Houston, United States
Twelve rods suspended from the ceiling unfold in space.
The reference to volume gives way to the idea of a dematerialization of the picture. Blue also spreads where it is no longer present because, contrary to what we think, between the drops, it is still raining.

Yves Klein installed this sculpture during his exhibition "Propositions monochromes" at Colette Allendy in 1957.
