Yves Klein: With the Void, Full Powers

Collectif

During his brief but prolific creative career, Yves Klein (1928-1962) conquered the European art scene. He is considered a pioneer of many avant-garde movements such as Minimal Art, performance and conceptual art. Klein was an innovator who combined painting, sculpture, performance, music, film and theoretical concepts. He took new paths based on his exploration of the philosophy of Judo, the teachings of the Rosicrucians and the philosophical exploration of science and space, accompanied by his quest to achieve immateriality through pure color and emptiness.

The publication includes examples of all major series such as the anthropometrics, the fire pictures and the monochrome pictures. In addition, less well-known works are also considered. Sketches, photographs, letters and writings provide insight into Klein's artistic creative process as well as his conceptual projects.
