Tinguely's Favorites : Yves Klein

Tinguely Museum, Basel, Switzerland

The exhibition "Tinguely's Favorites: Yves Klein" presents the exceptional and pioneering work of Yves Klein (1928-1962) and, at the same time, the short but intense artistic friendship of these two artists that lasted until the untimely death Yves Klein in 1962.

The beginnings of Klein, after the war, mark a period of renewal, also in the arts. Many artists of the generation of Klein and Tinguely have sought their own language in these years, which should put an end to the predominance of gestural abstraction, more and more perceived as egocentric and academic.
