Blue, blue, blue: the Klein adventure

Château des Baux-de-Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence, France

To echo the program of the Carrières des Lumières, the Château des Baux-de-Provence offers an open-air exhibition tracing the life and work of the Nice artist Yves Klein through his emblematic works as well as photographs.
Through eleven large format panels mixing photographs and reproductions of his works, follow the artistic and personal path of this prolific creator. From his monochromes to his most avant-garde works of immaterial pictorial sensitivity, explore the different facets of his work. Klein developed a narrative around his work and left many insightful writings about his process, some of which you will find quoted in the exhibition. Recounting his youth marked by travel, his training as a judoka, his theoretical writings, and the collective adventures in which he took part, discover the meteoric life - his career lasted only eight years - and the radical approach of this artist who never ceased to put himself on stage, elaborating a personal myth that was an integral part of his work.
