Vertigo

Fondation Carmignac, Porquerolles, France

The Fondation Carmignac is presenting the exhibition Vertigo, curated by Matthieu Poirier, at the Villa Carmignac on the island of Porquerolles off the coast of Hyères from 26 April to 2 November 2025.

Echoing the dizzying experience of the Mediterranean sun, mistral wind, waves and sea spray, as well as the immensity of the sky and the depths of the sea on the island of Porquerolles, the VERTIGO exhibition explores in a new way the links between the perception of natural phenomena and abstraction since the 1950s, bringing together artists who have freed themselves from figuration, appearances and images to better question our relationship with the sensitive world.

Yves Klein is at the heart of the exhibition, with a group of major works: a fire painting (F 24), a blue monochrome (IKB 68), an installation of blue Pure pigment and a Pluie bleue [Blue Rain].

An invitation to plunge our gaze into the transcription of the invisible forces of nature and the vibrations of colour.
